Cleaning out my studio - Crafty Garage Sale!!

Yup my friends...here we are again.  Another new house, another studio that doesn't "quite" fit all my crafty goodies, and ANOTHER crafty garage sale!  We totally lucked in to the greatest garage sale situation ever...our town (Steilacoom, WA) hosts a community wide garage sale every year that is apparently a HUGE deal.  How handy that is was scheduled for just a few weeks after we got moved in!  ;)

Of course we are selling "real" garage sale items (furniture that won't fit in the new house, art work that doesn't match our new decor, etc) - but I am most excited about meeting local crafters over some fabulous deals from my studio.  So if you love crafty deals - please come on out and see us this Saturday August 10th.  We would love to meet you (and Don would LOVE for you to take away some crafty stuff!) - the official Steilacoom garage sale begins at 9am - but we ALL know that people will be out at the crack of dawn...we'll probably be out there about 6:30 or so. ;)

If you are interested, and live in the Seattle/Tacoma Washington area - email me at aintshecrafty@gmail.com and I will give you our address...or you can just try and find us on the "these houses are having a garage sale" map that Steilacoom will be handing out Saturday morning!  Genius!

I will have inventory (all new/in packaging) at 30-90% off retail from the following manufacturers:

***8/11 UPDATE*** - the garage sale was a HUGE success (and it was so nice to meet some local gals!) but I don't want to leave out those who live too far away. So please leave a comment here and I am going to choose TWO winners who will receive a box full of craft garage sale goodies! The winners will be announced on my Facebook Page on Wednesday morning. Good luck!

Meet the New Xyron Design Team - Jennifer Priest and Yvonne Yam

As we round out a wonderful week of introducing you to Xyron's newest Design Team members we'd like you to say hello to Jennifer Priest and Yvonne Yam!

name: Jennifer Priest
lives in: Hysperia, CA
blog: http://hydrangeahippo.com/blog/
why we love her:  In addition to having her finger on the pulse of the industry, Jennifer works in every possible medium with every possible technique to create projects that inspire us.  From kids crafts to home decor to jewelry and more, Jennifer's tutorials and project ideas give us the tools to be more creative.
a little bit about her: It started with jewelry, beading, sewing, home decor, painting, basket weaving, pottery, and cross-stitch. Marry that to an entrepreneurial spirit & at 9 years old I was selling my wares at craft fairs as far as my parents and grandparents would drive me. These days, I enjoy crafts of all genres from sewing to scrapbooking to jewelry with a little dabbling in the mixed media world. My style is approachable and I want everyone who sees my work to feel that they too can embrace creativity and make their home and life beautiful.

name: Yvonne Yam
lives in: Singapore
blog: http://yyam.blogspot.com/
why we love her: We were totally blown away by the way Yvonne takes ordinary items and turns them in to art.  Her ability to bring textures and colors and patterns together in unexpected ways made us giddy - we can't wait to see what she comes up with next!
a little bit about her: Hello there! My name is Yvonne Yam and I hail from the sunny island of Singapore. I love to make stuff, using unexpected found stuff. My style is eclectic at best but really a mishmash of whatever tickles my fancy at that point in time! I love to experiment with mediums and play with textures but my projects always involves some form of upcycling and loads of colour! :)

Yay Jennifer and Yvonne!  So happy to have you!  Tune in tomorrow on the Xyron Facebook Page where we will share an album filled with all of our Design Team members' favorite projects.  It will inspire you!

Meet the New Xyron Design Team - Lori Williams and Tammy Tutterow

We are having such a great time introducing you to our newest Design Team members - today we are saying hello to Lori Williams and Tammy Tutterow!

name: Lori Williams
lives in: Hendersonville, NC
blog: http://www.pinkcloudscrappers.blogspot.com/
why we love her: The detailing on Lori's work is incredible, her handmade delicate embellishments are lovely, her tutorials are easy to follow and full of great techniques - we just knew we had to have her!
a little bit about her: I'm a passionate crafter that shares the love with my sister Gini. I started in pottery yrs ago & moved into jewelry design/metal in college. I started working with paper w/the birth of my 1st son 12 years ago. I only serve on teams I'm passionate about & can promote that is why I'm so thrilled to be a part of the Xyron Design Teams. My style is detailed clean & I enjoy making realistic handmade flowers. I also have a wicked sense of humor and can always find something happy in every situation.

name: Tammy Tutterow
lives in: Belleville, IL
blog: http://tammytutterow.com/
why we love her: We have long admired Tammy's talents!  Her use of techniques to turn every day items in to works of art inspires us, and her willingness to share those techniques through tutorials makes us feel like we can become better crafters and encourages us to step "outside the box".
a little bit about her: I am a lifelong artist and crafter. I love all types of crafts but find my true crafting passion in papercrafts, ribbonwork, and sewing. I love to combine elements of all three into my projects. I have been an instructor and project designer in the papercraft/scrapbook industry since 2005 and my projects have been published in several books, magazines, and product catalogs and have been featured on television. I teach technique based classes at stores, conventions, and online. When I am not creating, I am a wife and mother of three who loves anything and everything shabby, chippy, and vintage. I love to scour flea markets for old treasures. I am also a fair weather gardener so if the spring breezes are blowing, you will probably find me playing in the dirt in my flower garden.

Welcome Lori and Tammy!  So excited to see what you create!

Meet the New Xyron Design Team - Marlene Gomez and Heather Conklin

All week we will be introducing you to the newest members of the Xyron Design Team - and today we are featuring Marlene Gomez and Heather Conklin!

name: Marlene Gomez
lives in: North Bergen, NJ
blog: http://www.scrappincookie.blogspot.com/
why we love her: Her delicate embellishments and intricate designs made her stand out right away, and her use of scrapbooking products to turn store bought items in to custom, personalized gifts fits right in with our "outside the box" thinking!
a little bit about her: I’m a 29 year old SAHM. I’ve been married for 10 years and have two wonderful growing boys - ages 9 & 6. There are exactly what little boys are: dirt on face, cut on finger, frog/bugs in pockets – but they are my pride and joy. Outside of my household duties, I love all things crafty! Ever since I was a little girl I’ve always been on the crafty side, but it has only been during these past 7 years that I have truly entered the Paper Crafting World. I enjoy everything from cardmaking to altering items and I’ve even been given the opportunity to have several of my projects published in the 2012 Cricut Magazines (July – December) and the upcoming 2013 CARDS Magazine. I’m so thankful to Xyron for allowing me to be part of their Design Team family. I look forward to working with such a wonderful group of talented paper crafters, as well as providing inspiration to the Xyron Followers.

name: Heather Conklin
lives in: Tacoma, WA
blog: http://goldiecar.blogspot.com/
why we love her: Her "clean" sense of crafting still leaves room for lots of color and patterns - and it shows!  She uses pattern mixing, different textures and fun colors to make her projects shine.  We love that!
a little bit about her: I am an avid crafter and love to create layouts, cards, and home décor using all kinds of paper products. My crafting style is fairly graphic, although I adore trying new methods and tricks. During the week, I teach visual arts at a local, urban high school.  I love shopping local, adore Starbucks Clover coffee, Sanuks, my Silhouette Cameo and especially spending time with my husband, two little girls (the focus of many of my crafting projects) and not-so-miniature Schnauzer. I also think fake mustaches are hilarious. I am also a member of the Authentique Paper Design Team. I am excited to share with you new projects showcasing Xyron products!

Welcome to the family Marlene and Heather!  So happy to have you!
