If I had to pick an emotion right now it wouldn't be grateful - it would be...mildly anxious. Our entire extended family (both Don's and mine) and many of our friends live along the Eastern seaboard, and with Hurricane Sandy bearing down it isn't business as usual on that side of the country. Logically we know that our people are responsible, smart human beings who have done everything they can to be ready, but living so far away and obsessively watching the news 24 hours a day (which CLEARLY isn't helpful) we feel a little helpless and so - mildly anxious. That is why, when this came across my computer this morning (thanks to my friend Claudine Hellmuth) I took it as a sign.

Beginning November 1st and lasting 30 days, Carla White is challenging us to journal five things we are grateful for every day. I think this is a WONDERFUL way to kick off the holiday season, and coming on the tail end of Sandy it will remind us all to take a deep breath and realize no matter what happens, we have a lot to be grateful for.
I'm thinking about turning this little project in to a mini album or maybe a scrapbook layout, but for the moment I am just going to find a pen and a clean notepad and get ready for November 1st. I hope you'll join me!
I'm in!
